CHILDREN AT WORK on Judy Blume Boulevard!
By Mrs. Caunitz's Class
Time sure flies when you are having fun! Mrs. Caunitz’s class cannot believe it is already spring. We are continuing to excel as 4th graders!
In English Language Arts, we completed our theme unit of study with writing responses to literature. The children chose a picture book and used evidence from the text and their own background knowledge to compose a four paragraph response. Do you know we all learned a lesson from the picture book we worked with?
“Never stop reaching for the stars if you really want something”
- Emma Ascolese
“Don’t ever give up trying your hardest”
- Stephen Mitchell
“Never judge anyone by the way they look or the way they speak”
-Anna Ren
We are currently in our non fiction unit of study. Some non fiction lessons include coding a text for non fiction features and creating focus questions to guide our research for our informational articles. Topics include World War I, World War II, Tigers, Derek Jeter, Veterinarians, Italy and many more!!
Judy Blume Boulevard sure has many mathematicians. As mathematicians along with Ms. Erickson, Dr. Aaron and Ms. Vega Cabrera’s class we have been working so hard to master our multiplication and division facts. We are continuing to practice our facts for we have moved on to our division unit of study and we definitely still need to know our facts! We can’t even believe we are learning long division and we love it! The students were so excited for World Math Day in March. The day was a huge success and we had a blast! Congratulations to Daesob Lim who won 1st place in 4th grade and Cottage Lane School!
We are looking forward to the many upcoming activities and lessons that make grade 4 such an exciting year. We thank all of you for your help, guidance and support, for you are very important to us!
