New York State of Mind

Ms. Early’s students are in a New York State of mind.  We have been traveling around the state learning about the different landform regions.  Our classes have been studying all the natural wonders that make our state such a wonderful place to live.  We are also learning all about the Native American tribes that once lived in our area.  It was really fun and exciting to play “spear the deer”.  It was very challenging to sharpen our hunting skills. 

In Math, we learned how to work with money and make change.  To practice this real life skill, we hosted a bookmark sale.  Our class worked feverishly on creating hand-crafted bookmarks to sell to the students at Cottage Lane.  All the proceeds from the sale were donated to the Kearney family.  It warms our hearts knowing we raised over $330 for our dear friends.  Who knew math could be so much fun!

We hope all the families at Cottage Lane have a lovely winter break and enjoy the holiday season with their families.
