Math News!
We just have begun
our unit on multiplication and students are working hard learning the different
ways we can multiply, using standa
rd
form and partial product with
FOIL. Students worked for two weeks on many kinds of problem solving strategies
and created their own Spooky math word problems for Halloween. We will soon
begin our unit of Division in Math. We will practice long division and continue
to striving to master our multiplication and division facts.
Reminder: It is very important for students to study their basic facts daily for fluency and accuracy!!
English Language Arts gives students the opportunity to express their thoughts. We started to work on memoirs and I was delighted to see that the students have developed a new appreciation for the genre. We immersed ourselves in different memoirs and discovered the many ways good writers write. Students perfected their craft and added vivid language and strong emotion to their writing pieces. Come check out our Memory Doors and read our memoirs outside Room 406. We are also exploring our creative side by working on our Someday, What if? and What could happen… poems.
