Math Olympiads

I would like to take this opportunity to thank and commend 4^th and 5^th grade mathletes who were among the nearly 150,000 students worldwide to participate this year in the Math Olympiad program.  They participated in a series of five monthly contests from November to March, and weekly practice sessions during the course of the year. A pancake breakfast and these certificates recognize each and every mathlete for accepting such a challenge with eagerness and enthusiasm. 

29 of these mathletes have won a national award for excellence within the Elementary School Division.  The following 4^th grade students have earned an embroidered felt patch for being in the top 50^th percentile of the competition:  Ean W., Jack S., Cullen M., Andy K., David L., Rebecca F., Jack S..  The following 5^th grade students have earned an embroidered felt patch for being in the top 50^th percentile of the competition:  Anjali V., Lawerence C., Samiyah B., Nick D., Olivia G., Audrey Q., Leo K., Sienna P., Marisa C., Laura M., Skylar K., Qudrey Q., Cordelia M., Julie B., Mark G., Alice T., David A., Robert J., Alec G., Kyle F., Livy B., Justin S., and Alex L.

The silver pin is awarded to the following students for placing in the 90^th to 97^th percentiles: Justin S., Alex L., Livy B., and Kyle F.. 

A trophy is awarded to Kyle F. and David L. for receiving the highest score on their grade level team.

I wish the 5^th graders the best of luck in the Middle School and hope you will continue to participate in this program. To the 4^th graders, I look forward to working with you again next year.  I am very proud of our Math Olympiad Teams at Cottage Lane.
