This book is about a boy from when he was born to about four years old. He had a very strange life, having a weird sister. He also had a worm for a pet. He later sees that he will have a life like this, asking questions and his parents and sister answering them.
Sam fried to say his first words, "Don't drop me," but they were heard as "Waaaaaahhhhh!" Until he became about two years old, he cannot talk. Before that, he could only make sounds like "Waahh!" and "Phhllllt." He also thought things in a different way. For example, he thought the pantry was the pan tree and when his mother told him that the water went into the pipes, Sam went into his father's room to see if they were in the pipes he smoked.
Sam had an older sister named Anastasia. She was about seven to eight years old when Sam was born. Anastasia seemed to like babies at first, but she was not really used to them. For example, when Sam was in the middle in the Terrible Twos, Sam began saying no to everything, and when she shrieked that to her moom, she replied that Sam was in the middle of the Terrible Twos. Anastasia was also terrified about going to Junior High, or middle school.
Sam's mother had Anastasia, so she knew what to do when she had Sam. Her name was Kathrine. Once, she wanted to make spaghetti, but when she found out that Sam had a pet for a worm because his dad was allergic to dogs and cats, she decided to make something else. She also did not go to work, probably because she had Sam and Anastasia.
Sam's father's name was Myron. He went to work at Harvard University, but Sam thought of it as Harvarduniversity. He also had a beard, but he was rearly bald, so Sam thought that men were like that. Sam's father was also known as Mr. Flabbo. Myron was almost always at work, so Sam could go into his room whenever he wanted.
This story shows the life of a baby. The baby asks questions that may have different answers to the questions. But as the boy grows up, he gets less and less confusing.
