Bruce Coville’s book, My Teacher Fried My Brains, was an exciting and interesting book to read. Something exciting was always happening that made you want to turn the page and see how the problem turned out. Duncan, the main character finds a skin-like material glove in a dumpster, that he thinks belongs to an alien. Duncan thinks this because a student named Peter was kidnapped by a teacher who was an alien the year before. When he finds the glove he also thinks that there is a new alien teacher because the other alien used skin-like material to cover up his body so he would look human, and the trash in the dumpster is only a few days old. Duncan is determined to find out who the new alien is.
Duncan is a boy that is going into 7th grade. He is a kid that gets bullied all the time by his older brother, and because of that , that’s why he is a bully. I like Duncan as a character because I would make the same decisions as Duncan . If he was not in this book I don’t think I would have liked this book. Duncan has a friend named Susan. She is also going into 7th grade with Duncan. She is a smart person. She unmasked the first alien by thinking really hard. Even though the book was not very believable or realistic the characters in the book were, very believable and realistic.
If you would like to know who Duncan and Susan think the other alien is you’re going to have to read the book to find out. These two friends solve the mystery of one of the teacher's secrets. This will be a very good book to you if you like action filled and exciting books.
