Review:

This story takes place in Arizona.  I've been to Arizona before but I didn't feel the same way Leo felt about the scenery and how romantic it could be.  Leo was in eleventh grade and loved to to collect neckties.  It was almost like his hobby.

Then along came Stargirl Caraway and Leo fell in love.  Stargirl was a tenth grader who attended Mica High; Leo attended Mica, too.  Stargirl was on the strange side because she was home schooled her whole life.  Imagine you not having any friends on the first day of tenth grade and not knowing what to wear or how to act.  However, Stargirl was different and unique.  She didnt care what everyone else thought of her.  This is what Leo eventually fell in love with.

I think that most kids my age would enjoy this book.  However, this book would appeal to girls more than to boys.  In my opinion, boys would be more into action as opposed to romance and scenery.  Although, boys can go through the same experiences as Stargirl did.  For instance, wanting to fit in, knowing what clothes to wear, and who to hang out with.  These are issues both boys and girls go through our age.

I gave this book four stars rather than five stars for several reasons.  The negative reasons are that it wasn't humorous.  I prefer  funny books because I usually get through the book faster.  I think more people would enjoy this book if it was more humorous.  Another negative aspect was that not everyone was that not everyone would like it.  As previously mentioned, it appeals more to girls than to boys.  Now the thing that I liked about the book was that it was fast reading.  STARGIRL was interesting and kept me motivated to read.  Some other books I read in the past were slow reading, boring, tiny print and it took me forever to finish reading.  This is why I gave STARGIRL four stars.
